Pitts Wilson Limited are a long established Mechanical & Electrical Contracting Company, able to offer a full range of services covering all aspects of the M&E industry, from major projects to service and Maintenance we have the in house expertise. We have vast experience in all sectors and industries including, Retail, Leisure, Education, Commercial, Industrial, Power Generation, etc.

Meet The Team

  • GEOFFREY MOUNTAIN Chairman

    Geoff can best be described as an Entrepreneur. Originally trained in Optics he progressed into on board weighing systems and electronics developing world leading technology in the field. He set up and managed ‘PM On Board’ from inception in 1986 to floatation on the Stock Exchange in 2002 and its sale in 2008 to an American multinational. Throughout this time, he remained Chairman and majority shareholder of Pitts Wilson. He remains Chairman of the business today along with holding many other business interests. Outside of work he continues to develop his farming, and property interests and enjoys spending time with his family and social circle of friends.

  • Paul Baldwin Managing Director

    Paul originally started work as an apprentice Electrician at what was David Pitts & Holt at the age of 16 in June 1984, he was promoted into the office in the late 80’s becoming a Project Engineer in the early 90’s. He left in 1994 to pursue his career where he occupied several Director level roles with similar type M&E business. He returned to Pitts Wilson in December 2018 taking the Managing Director role at the invitation of the Chairman.

    Paul spends time playing golf, badminton and walking with friends and family away from work.

  • Stuart Reid Mechanical Director

    Stuart joined Pitts Wilson to head up our Mechanical Department. He brings a wealth of experience to complement our already well established and trusted Electrical offering.

    Stuart served a mechanical services craft apprenticeship moving on to become a site installation fitter, project manager, estimator, Divisional Manager and Director with several similar organisations. Stuart has the skillset and proven track record to accompany the ambitious growth plans of the Mechanical Services Department, managing the teams projects from conception to handover and beyond.

    Away from work, he’s a keen Golf enthusiast and Football supporter, which alongside family time and Travel fills up Stuart’s time away from work.

  • PAUL BOTTOMLEY Service & Fire Director

    Paul embarked on his career in 1995, gaining an apprenticeship with Pitts Electrical Ltd. He quickly progressed through the Company’s training scheme becoming a site foreman and later Project Engineer, he later spent time managing the Businesses Health, Safety and Quality Systems before taking on the Management of the Service and Fire Departments in 2016. He was promoted to the board becoming a Director in 2017. He has a vast knowledge of all aspects of the business and its clients. In his spare time Paul enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf and socialising.

  • Andy Lockett Business Development Manager

    Andy started his career at 16 with David Pitts & Holt in 1978, completing a successful city & guilds apprenticeship. He left the company and trained with two leading national electrical wholesalers as a buyer, eventually becoming Purchasing Supervisor. Re-joining the company in 1992 as an engineer in the support services department, Andy has furthered his career achieving a variety of industry recognised certificates including a NEBOSH general certificate in Health & Safety and IEE industry upgrades.

    He is currently our Business Development Manager responsible for gaining new enquiries and managing existing relationships.

    Outside work he enjoys gardening, DIY, and has completed several half marathons raising money for a number of charities.

  • History

    Pitts Wilson Limited was formed by the amalgamation of two long standing Bradford based Electrical Contracting Businesses – Pitts Electrical Limited and W D Wilson Limited.

    The two Companies operated as separate businesses until 1997 when W D Wilson was acquired by and became part of Pitts Electrical Limited at that time the Company name changed to Pitts Wilson Electrical Limited, later dropping the ‘Electrical’ reference with a view to adding a Mechanical capability which is now fully in place.

    W D Wilson can trace its trading history back to 1910, when it was established to take advantage of the change towards electrically driven machinery in local Mills. The Company was incorporated on the 11th July 1947.

    Mr John Fyfe Wilson, the son of the founder, was a Fellow of the IEE and was awarded an MBE in the New Year’s Honours List published on the 30th December 1989.

    He sat on the Wiring Regulations Committee that wrote and introduced the 15th Edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations his name is enshrined in the front of the Publication.

    W D Wilson were one of the founding members of the Electrical Contractors Association (ECA) in the early 1900’s and is one of only a handful of those original members that is still in existence today

    Pitts Electrical Limited was established in 1954, by David Pitts (originally named David Pitts & Holt Limited). David Pitts developed the business from the 50’s through to his retirement in the 90’s at which point ownership passed to his Son in Law. Who continues to be the majority shareholder today.

    David Pitts was the National President of the ECA in 1979/80. He played a major part in settling trade disputes through the uncertain times of the late 70’s and early 80’s, he is recognised as a fellow of the Association and is mentioned in the Associations publication ‘The First Hundred Years’.

    The Company has a long and proud history built on reputation and repeat business with a traditional focus on training and the development of staff.

    Health, Safety and the Environment are hugely important to us as a business.

    We constantly strive to manage these elements of the business in a proactive manner, we identify and then reduce risks to protect our employees, other members of site teams and the greater public at large.

    The construction industry carries a high level of risk and is therefore of paramount importance to our business, it is always the first consideration in everything we do.

    We are committed to making our business. its employee’s and our supply chain as safe as possible at all times.

    We recognise positive behaviour, we learn from new industry trends and manage poor performance out of the business.

    We employ a dedicated ‘in house’ Health & Safety Manager, we are members of CHAS, Constructionline (Gold Certificate) and have quality systems in place meeting the requirements of ISO9001 2015 to ensure safe working practices are continually developed and implemented across the whole of our business.

    We work with Main Contractors and other clients to implement best practice and keep people safe at all times.
